On the final hand of play, Honxing Zhang got his short stack in the middle on a board showing [Ah][9d][8h], after floppng a straight draw holding [10c][7h]. He was trailing the [Ad][7d] of Merrick, and he would hit a third ace on the turn.
No straight came on the river for Zhang, who would have to settle for the second place prize of $53,870. It is Andrew Merrick who claims his third WSOPC ring overall, his first WSOPC Main Event title, and $87,120 to boot.
Congratulations to Merrick, and everyone else who made the final table in this event!
