However, the story coming into the day is Hermilo “Taxi” Vargas. Vargas is a former winner of this event, taking it down in 2017 for nearly $72,000. Vargas would one up that though three months later, winning the same event in March of 2018 for $86,000. Today, he is looking to make history as the first player to ever win the same WSOPC Ring Event three different times!
