Friedman Goes Runner Runner to Double

By April 4, 2023No Comments

Blinds: 150,000/300,000

Ira Friedman got his final 3,600,000 or so in preflop holding [As][Qs], and it was a classic race against Brandon Eisen, holding [Jc][Jh].

The hand looked to be over after the flop came [Jd][8d][5s], but Friedman caught the best possible turn card, the [10s]. Suddenly, he went from almost drawing dead to now winning with a king, nine, or spade, and the [9c] came on the river to complete that unlikely straight, and a double up to about 7,500,000.

Friedman clapped and celebrated with a buddy on the rail, while Eisen could just shake his head, as he was knocked down to the short stack, though funny enough, he would double back to five million a few hands later when he faced Friedman in another coin flip, this time coming out on top.
