Former Mini Mega Millions champion Marc Fiorentino is looking prime for another final table run here in this event, but he was playing reporter on this hand, as he relayed the details of a massive pot that was one of the most dangerous players in the field hit the rail, while also boosting the stack of Organez Mkrtychyan (pictured above), who won the 50/50 event here last fall for over $92,000.
Action started with Fiorentino raising from the hijack, and getting calls from Mkrtychyan in the cutoff, and Zilong Zhang (pictured below) in the big blind. The flop came down [Kd][Qd][5s], and Fiorentino continued for half pot. Mkrtychyan called, and Zhang went for a big check raise that pot Fiorentino to fold King-Jack for top pair.
Mkrtychyan wasn’t going anywhere though, shoving all in with [Ad][2d] for the nut flush draw. Zhang called with [9d][5d] for a lesser flush draw and a pair, and looked to be in decent shape to scoop the massive pot. However, another diamond came on the turn, and just like that, Mkrtychyan was propelled towards the top of our counts with over 11 million.
