Two Short Stack Suckouts

By August 28, 2026No Comments

After a chop was declined, Carl Hosten found himself all in preflop holding [Ad][9c], and he was flipping against the [7d][7h] of Raul Rosales. The pair held on the [Qd][Jd][5h] flop, and the [4c] turn. However, the [9h] came on the river to double Hosten up to 1,800,000, and send Rosales to the short stack.

He would get his final 1,300,000 in not long after that with [5s][5d], but he ran square into the [10h][10d] of chip leader Adel Barin. The flop of [As][8d][7c] changed nothing, but the [5h] turn changed everything. The [6d] completed the board, and just like that, Rosales went from unlucky to lucky to reclaim the chip lead.
