William Shiraev started heads up play with a rather large lead over George Adjamoglian, and he had extended that lead to the point that Adjamoglian had about half his stack committed in the big blind. He would get it in with [Jd][9c] against the [As][4s] of Shiraev, and in a flash, the hand was over after the flop of [5d][3d][2s] gave Shiraev a wheel. Adjamoglian could manage to survive if the board ran out a straight, but the [7h] came on the turn instead, ending the hand, and the tournament.
It has been an impressive week for Adjamoglian, who adds over $38,000 to the $26,000 and change he earned for his seventh place showing in the Mini Mega Millions just last weekend. But tonight, the victory goes to William Shiraev, who will earn a payday of $61,775, and the trophy.
