The two short stacks did battle in a big coin flip preflop, with Roey Dadon showing [Ac][Jh], while Brian Somerville had called with [9d][9c]. The flop of [Ad][Qs][3s] shot Dadon out into the lead, and Somerville wasn’t able to catch up from there.
That hand left Somerville with just three big blinds, but he is already mounting a comeback. First, he tripled up through the two big stacks to get back to nearly a million, and he just secured another empathic double-up through chip leader Peter Cross. Somerville was all in with pocket eights, flipping against the Ace-Jack of Cross, but a third eight came on the flop, and the case eight on the turn to give him a nice double up to over two million with quads.
