Santiago Cortijo had just lost most of his stack when he got his final few chips in preflop holding [8s][4d]. Tae Gon Kim put him at risk with [As][9s], and the board ran down [10d][7d][7c][10s][Qs] to give Kim the victory.
Cortijo will settle for the runner-up spot, and $68,665, while Kim will earn the WSOPC Ring, a seat in the $1 Million Tournament fo Champions Freeroll, but most importantly, the first place prize of $111,075.
Congratulations to Kim, who said that this was just his second career tournament cash in his post-victory interview! Be on the lookout for that interview to be posted later this weekend. Until then, good night from the Bike!
