De Souza Doubles Through Khalili

By August 26, 2026No Comments

Blinds: 300,000/600,000

Allison De Souza raised to 1,300,000 under the gun, and he was called by Michael Danley in the cutoff, and Danny Wong in the small blind. From the big blind, Sohale Khalili shoved all in, having everyone in the hand but Danley covered.

De Souza didn’t take very long to slide the rest of his chips in, and Danley and Wong both quickly exited. De Souza showed [Kc][Kd], while Khalili had [Ad][Qs]. The former Parkwest Classic champion had cracked kings with the same hand before the final table, but it wasn’t meant to be this time, as the board of [10s][8s][3c][5s][Jc] gave him some hope on the turn, but left him with just ace high in the end.

De Souza is suddenly one of the big stacks, while Khalili was knocked down to just six big blinds after that, though he himself would quickly double back up when his Ace-King outran the pocket eights of Joseph Roh after an ace came on the flop.
