Hand for hand play lasted exactly one hand, with two tables having an all in and a call. On one table, former champion of this event Marc Fiorentino was in position to secure a knockout that would have given him the overall chip lead, as his pocket nines were racing against the Ace-Jack of his opponent. However, two jacks came on the flop, and a third on the river, and despite making a full house, Fiorentino was stil lsecond best. He still carries a mammoth stack of about three million into play tomorrow.
Leading the way is Derek Gregory, who bagged just over four million tonight. Other notables who survived and advanced and will return on Wednesday for the Day 3 finals include Mike Danley, Robel Andemichael, Beth Hall, Alex Massman, and former Mega Millions champion Boris Goldstein.
